Closing date for entries 31st July 2012
In Britain we love nothing more than a delicious chocolate for any occasion, so in a year when we're celebrating everything great about Great Britain, the nation's best-loved chocolate brand Thorntons is launching its Great Chocolate Britain Chosen By You competition - a search for the next great chocolate flavour inspired by your region.
Fancy a chocolate made with real Somerset Cider or a hint of Cornish sea salt?
Or perhaps you'd love to try a chocolate that tastes just like the famous Derbyshire dessert, Bakewell Tart?
Okay, Thorntons has already made that one but there are still so many fantastic British flavours that would pair perfectly with chocolate and Thorntons wants to hear about them.
Submit your chocolate creations online for a chance to win a money-can't-buy chocolatey prize.
Not only will the lucky winner receive a year's supply of Thorntons chocolate, they will also get the chance to go to Thornton Park in Derbyshire to see their chocolate idea come to life in the kitchens with Thorntons' chocolatiers.
Plus their chocolate creation will be launched as part of a new Thorntons' Handmade
Collection, in stores in October.
The competition is open for entries until the end of July, when all the ideas will be looked at by a panel of experts and whittled down to a top three for each region.
The Great British public will then have the casting vote to decide the top flavour from every region, with one overall winner being announced during Chocolate Week in October.
Thorntons is looking for chocolate creations from across the whole country.
What chocolate flavour would best represent Scotland, Northern Ireland, the North West, the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside, the West Midlands, the East Midlands, East Anglia, London & the South East, the South West and Wales?
If you're looking for some inspiration, take a look at Thorntons' Best of British range, which was launched earlier this year to celebrate 2012.
Along with iconic products such as chocolate flag plaques, lollies and chocolate buses, Thorntons also launched a new range of flavours based on classic British desserts such as Jam Roly Poly, Apple Pie & Custard, Bakewell Tart and Lemon Sussex Pond.

How about a wonderful deep dark smooth liquorice flavour? Another flavour I like is Peanut Butter with a touch of Honey. I know I would go for choccies with these flavours. I'm afraid these flavours are not inspired by my region of Surrey - I don't think we have a particular food associated with us.
