Free From For Kids

In our continuing search for more readily available, good quality free-from produce we have discovered a brand new online shop.

Suzanne Attryde has a lot of experience with the free-from market, having two boys on a restricted diet and this meant a lot of time searching for free-from food.

Suzanne found it increasingly difficult to find free-from produce suitable for her children, particularly free-from treats and because of this Freefromforkids was born...

We caught up with Suzanne to get some more details on the 'birth' of FreeFromforkids.

Freefromforkids was born out of my own experience of having children on a restricted diet. My two boys have been on a dairy, egg and soya exclusion diet due to gut problems, allergies and intolerances. They have had health problems since birth and it has been a difficult journey for them, and for me and my husband.

I always found it really tricky to find fun attractive foods that my children like the look and taste of. When I have found foods they like, I have always needed to shop at lots of different supermarkets and health food shops to get them all - which took up a lot of time and money.

Parties, Christmas and Easter have always been the toughest times for my boys with so many lovely looking treats on the supermarket shelves.

They regularly asked why they couldn't have the fun foods like everyone else.

It was at these times that I decided that I wanted children on special diets to feel like their peers and to have foods that look and taste just as delicious.

So, I decided to have a go at creating my own supermarket that brought together the best tasting and best looking free-from foods out there from a whole host of manufacturers.

In my search for products that look and taste good, I've been letting my sons decide what I should and shouldn't sell. They've been great food testers and you'll see in the shop that they've given their opinions on all the products on Freefromforkids.

I want Freefromforkids to grow with my customer's needs so I ask that people get in touch if there are products they want to see in the shop and I'll do my best to source them. Obviously as a small company just starting out I can't stock everything but I will investigate any product suggestions.

I hope Freefromforkids will, over time, become a one stop shop for families with special diets, eventually selling everything you need so you don't have to spend any more time shopping around, as life is busy enough.

I am very excited about launching Freefromforkids and I want to thank you my special boys, Luke and Ben, for inspiring me and encouraging me to do it!
